ARCHIVE NEWS 2002

ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE AT EDITION FARM

We had our open house on October 13th, 2002.
It was a Sunday, cool, cloudy, but not pouring rain
as it was most of the night before!!
About 50 of our clients, friends, and neighbors
enjoyed the food, liquid refreshments, and horse chatter.

Our staff
I, Vivien did the commentary, and enjoyed pointing out
the virtues and faults of each young horse.

It always gives us at the farm such joy
and sense of accomplishment to show off these babies.
They will be sold in the spring and fall sales of 2003.
Some will go on to careers on the racetrack
without going through the sales ring first.
To all our clients, the proud breeders,
we wish good luck in the months to come.

Come and visit anytime.
Don't wait until the Open House next fall to come up to the Farm.

October 2002

Frank Mancini, a client who boards two mares at Edition Farm,
was thrilled to see "Big Gun", break his maiden by winning in his debut.
"Big Gun" is a 2 year old son
by "Dixie Brass", out of Frank's mare "Instant Shopper".

"Big Gun" was allowed to stalk the leaders in a relaxed gallop,
and then drove up on the rail to win going away.

Frank was heard to say that
he didn't understand why more people didn't become breeders.
It was such a thrill, that he felt as if he had won the Kentucky Derby.

We are very proud that "Big Gun" was
born, raised, and prepped for sale at Edition Farm.

"Shopping for Love", a half sister of "Big Gun",
was second in her last career outing, the Ticonderoga Stakes.
Her career earnings are now over $600,000.

She is to be retired and offered
for sale in the November Keeneland sale.
We will be sure to announce her sale price after the sale.

Her dam, ""Instant Shopper", resides at Edition Farm,
has a "Carson City" weanling, and is in foal to "Dance Brightly".

August 2002

The full brother to "Shopping for Love", Hip # 75 named
"Love In An Instant", sold at the Saratoga Select Sale
on August 6 for $190,000.

Owned by Frank Mancini, the colt was
foaled, raised and prepared for the sale at Edition Farm.

Our colt by Williamstown out of Mine Tonight,
multiple stakes winner and multiple stakes producer,
Hip # 378 named "My Kinda Town", sold for $117,000
at the Saratoga Preferred Sale on August 11.

"My Kinda Town" is a homebred,
born, raised and prepped at Edition Farm.
He was the property of Vivien and Harry Malloy,
owners of Edition Farm.

"My Kinda Town" and "Love In An Instant"
are New York Breds.

Mine Tonight is back in foal to Grand Slam,
and has a filly by Behrens born this year.

Instant Shopper, a multiple stakes producing mare,
is in foal to Dance Brightly
and has a Carson City colt by her side.

We received many compliments on
the condition, presence and stamina of the
yearlings prepped at our farm.
For example, our colt was
shown more than any other yearling in the consignment,
and even after almost 100 presentations,
was alert and willing to show well.
